Neuver Maritime has secured a contract to supply complete rudder and steering gear systems for four new 16,000 dwt product tankers in Transpetro’s fleet renewal program. The order reinforces Neuver Maritime’s position as a trusted provider of high‑performance maneuvering solutions for advanced tanker operations.

The new vessels are part of a major modernization initiative led by Petrobras‑owned Transpetro, aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing emissions and strengthening long‑term sustainability across its coastal and international logistics network.

 

High‑performance maneuvering technology for next‑generation tankers

Under the contract, Neuver Maritime will deliver a full maneuvering package consisting of rotary vane steering gears and high‑efficiency rudders engineered for precise control, long‑term reliability and optimized energy performance. The systems are designed to maintain tight deadband and minimal internal leakage over the vessel’s lifetime, contributing to reduced rudder resistance, improved fuel economy and stable steering behavior under all operating conditions.

The four tankers will feature a wide range of integrated equipment from Kongsberg Maritime, with Neuver’s steering gear and rudder systems forming a critical part of the vessel’s core architecture.
